I started Sod Replace Waterloo back in 2012. At the time, I noticed how many of my neighbors in the Laurelwood area were struggling with patchy, clay-heavy lawns that just wouldn’t grow grass. Waterloo is a beautiful city, but our local soil needs serious grading and soil preparation to truly thrive. What started with just me, a rented rototiller, and a pickup truck has grown into a dedicated team. Today, we handle everything from residential sodding and lawn replacement to grub control, lawn repair, and massive commercial sod installation projects. We know the Tri-City weather patterns and the unique soil challenges near the Grand River inside and out.

Driven by a commitment to honest service, Mark established Sod Replace Waterloo to provide his community with lawns that last. As the company’s leader and lead estimator, he makes sure every project starts with an accurate, transparent quote. When the snow flies and the sod season ends, Mark spends his winter weekends coaching minor hockey at the Albert McCormick Community Centre.
Sarah organizes all our grading and installation crews to ensure every project runs on time. She is a Conestoga College graduate who knows every topsoil supply route in the region like the back of her hand. Her sharp organizational skills guarantee that your lawn replacement goes smoothly from the first phone call to the final cleanup. Plus, she keeps the whole crew motivated by bringing her famous rhubarb pie to the shop every Friday!
Sully brings 15 years of highly specific experience in lawn fertilization, grub control, and overall lawn care. He understands exactly what local grasses need to establish deep roots and thrive in Waterloo’s climate. When he isn’t busy diagnosing soil pH issues or planning lawn repair strategies for our clients, you can usually find him out fishing on Belwood Lake.
Emma is our point person for all commercial sod installation jobs. She brings extensive experience in managing large-scale landscaping projects for local businesses, builders, and municipalities. Emma works closely with site managers and contractors to ensure that our commercial grading, soil preparation, and sodding services are delivered safely, efficiently, and flawlessly.
